Fitted Hair Aftercare

WASHING + STYLING

It is essential to follow the aftercare directions and use only approved products to prevent damage

to both your extensions and natural hair.

We recommend: Amika Norm-Core Shampoo & Conditioner.

SHAMPOO + CONDITION

- Wash your hair only 1-2 times per week.

- You have double the amount of hair, so rinse twice as thoroughly.

- Section your hair during washing to ensure all product is rinsed out properly.

WASH + DRY

- Use a microfiber towel to towel dry and reduce frizz and friction.

- Allow your hair to air dry up to 80%, if possible.

- Always dry the root area thoroughly, directing airflow towards the face.

- Never wash or blow dry your hair upside down-this can cause tangling.

BRUSH + STYLE

- Apply a small amount of oil to your extensions and natural ends daily.

- Brush regularly with a detangling brush, starting at the ends and working upward while holding the

row.

- Avoid hairspray and styling products with high alcohol content, as these will dry out the hair.

SLEEPING

- Brush your hair before bed. Put your hair in a low, loose braid or ponytail secured with a scrunchie to prevent matting.

- Never sleep with wet hair-this leads to matting and premature slipping of the extensions.

- Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase or use a silk/satin bonnet for added protection.

COLOURING

- Only have your hair colored by a certified extension specialist.

- Do not bleach or lighten your extensions-this causes irreversible damage and shortens their

lifespan.

- If you want to go lighter, new hair will be required.

SWIMMING + SUNSHINE

- Before swimming, rinse your hair with fresh water, apply leave-in conditioner, then braid and

secure it.

- Shampoo and condition as soon as possible after swimming.

- Avoid spray sunscreens near your hair-many contain ingredients that can turn extensions

orange/peach.

- We recommend Supergoop! Play (mineral-based), which we've tested.

- Chlorine can cause yellow tones-be cautious.

- If discoloration occurs, Malibu C Hard Water Treatments are available to help correct it.

MAINTENANCE

- As your hair grows, extensions (especially those attached with beads) will move down the hair

shaft, increasing tension.

- Schedule regular appointments:

- Every 4-6 weeks for systems

- Every 6-10 weeks for extension move-ups

- If you notice slipping, excessive tension, or anything that feels unusual, contact your stylist immediately for an adjustment.

Wig & Topper Aftercare

TO ENSURE THAT YOUR WIG OR HAIRPIECE MAINTAINS ITS CONDITION & STYLE. GENTLE CARE AND ATTENTION ARE NEEDED WITH THE APPROPRIATE PRODUCTS. TO HELP, WE HAVE LISTED THE HUMAN HAIR AFTERCARE FOR ALL WIGS & TOP PIECES.

HUMAN HAIR AFTERCARE

BEFORE YOU CLEANSE YOUR WIG OR TOPPER, WE WOULD LIKE TO REMIND YOU THAT YOU SHOULD ONLY USE PRODUCTS RECOMMENDED BY US. OTHERWISE, THE HUMAN HAIR COULD DRY OUT, LOSING ITS ELASTICITY AND CONDITION. DO NOT WASH IT TOO OFTEN WHEN WEARING YOUR HAIR DAILY. WE RECOMMEND WASHING IT AROUND EVERY 7-14 DAYS. PURCHASING A CORK HEAD AND CLAMP WILL HELP WITH STYLING YOUR HUMAN HAIR PIECE.

PREP + WASH

BRUSH YOUR WIG OR HAIRPIECE WITH A DETANGLE BRUSH. START AT THE ENDS OF THE HAIR AND WORK UP TO THE TOP. ALWAYS WASH YOUR HUMAN HAIR WIG OR HAIRPIECE IN A STRAIGHT CONFIGURATION WITH THE WATER RUNNING DOWN THE HAIR SHAFT. USE WARM WATER AND APPLY AMIKA NORM-CORE SHAMPOO ON THE PALM OF YOUR HANDS AND EVENLY WORK INTO THE HAIR FROM BASE TO TIPS. RINSE AND REPEAT THE SHAMPOOING PROCESS. THEN RINSE THOROUGHLY WITH COOL WATER BEFORE APPLYING A SMALL AMOUNT OF AMIKA NORM-CORE CONDITIONER TO MID-LENGTHS AND ENDS. RINSE THOROUGHLY. USE AMIKA'S SOUL FOOD MASK FOR DEEPER CONDITIONING.

CARE + STYLING

PLACE THE HAIRPIECE INTO A TOWEL AND GENTLY APPLY PRESSURE TO REMOVE EXCESS WATER. DRY THE BASE/INSIDE OF CAP WITH A WARM HAIRDRYER. THAT WILL DRY THE KNOTS AND TIGHTEN THEM. IT ALSO STOPS THE HAIR FROM SHEDDING AS THE KNOTS BECOME LOOSE DURING WASHING. PLACE THE PIECE ONTO A CORK HEAD WHERE YOU CAN WORK INTO A STYLE. GENTLY BRUSH FROM ENDS TO ROOT AND APPLY A HEAT PROTECTOR BEFORE DRYING, WHEN YOU NEED TO STRAIGHTEN OR CURL THE HAIR AFTER IT'S DRIED. WE RECOMMEND DIVA PRO STYLING TOOLS AS THEY HAVE HEAT CONTROL. WE ALSO RECOMMEND AN OIL TO MAINTAIN MOISTURE AND CONDITION IN THE HAIR.
